Eastchester Gardens PACT Partners Host Construction Kickoff Celebration
On May 31, residents of Eastchester Gardens gathered for a festive “Spring Thing” event hosted by the Bronx development’s Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT) partner team.
The event was held in the Eastchester Gardens Resident Association room, which was rehabbed early in the conversion process for the $391 million PACT project. The celebration marked Eastchester Gardens’ official entry into the PACT program since the conversion to Project-Based Section 8 at the end of March and served as a kickoff for the upcoming transformation of the campus.

The PACT kickoff event at Eastchester Gardens featured food, games, and giveaways for residents.
The PACT partner team — comprised of MDG Design + Construction, Wavecrest Management, and Infinite Horizons — organized the event to engage residents and build community ahead of the sweeping renovations planned for the development. Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson and City Councilmember Kevin Riley joined attendees who enjoyed food, games, and community giveaways, including custom Eastchester Gardens-branded swag.
Throughout the afternoon, residents had the opportunity to connect with the PACT partner team, ask questions, and learn more about the Eastchester Gardens Community Plan. The event highlighted the excitement surrounding the future improvements coming to the historic Bronx property, one of the oldest public housing developments in the city.
