Board of Public Housing Preservation Trust to Hold First Meeting on July 7
The Board of the Public Housing Preservation Trust will hold its inaugural meeting on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 12 p.m. The meeting, to be held at NYCHA’s Ceremonial room at 90 Church Street, is the latest milestone in the progress being made to stand up the Trust since it was signed into law by Governor Kathy Hochul in June 2022.
In May 2023, Mayor Eric Adams announced the establishment of the board and appointed its first members. The Trust is a public entity designed to bring billions of dollars into NYCHA properties following decades of federal disinvestment.
Through a resident voting process, residents of developments selected for a vote will be able to choose the Trust, Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT), or to remain Section 9.
