Celebrating NYCHA’s Resident Gardeners and Gardens
Hundreds of NYCHA’s resident gardeners, NYCHA staff, and partners gathered at Johnson Community Center in Manhattan on November 4, 2016 for the 53rd Annual NYCHA Garden & Greening Award Ceremony. More than 670 NYCHA gardens were judged by a diverse panel of horticultural professionals.
Sponsored by Unilever and the Fund for Public Health in New York City, the ceremony is the annual highlight of NYCHA’s Garden & Greening Program, a year-round beautification, environmental preservation and education initiative that benefits residents as well as seniors, the greater community, and day care centers citywide.
