Fulton Houses Residents Celebrate Reopened Community Center
On December 18, Hudson Guild, a community-based social services organization, and the Fulton Houses Resident Association organized a holiday party to celebrate the renovation of the Fulton Community Center. The 350 families who attended received gifts and participated in various holiday activities.
The newly renovated Fulton Community Center, in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, was reopened in April – first as a vaccination hub and now as a full-time community center. During the holiday celebration, NYCHA residents and other community members were introduced to the center’s new amenities and programs.
The center offers free afterschool programs for children in kindergarten through eighth grade, various free programs for teens and young adults, and a free lunch program three times a week for seniors over age 60. There will also be a basketball league and yoga, arts, and culture programs open to all ages.
