Meet Taiesha Andino, Caretaker P
Providing Excellent Service
We’re periodically featuring in the Journal the NYCHA staff who are working hard to provide excellent service to residents. Learn more about how we’re improving residents’ homes and becoming a better landlord through their perspective. Our first profile is of Taiesha Andino, a Caretaker P who’s been with NYCHA for about eight years:
“As a Caretaker P, I’m part of a team that’s working to give our residents the service they deserve. My responsibilities vary from repairing and replacing walls to providing safety measures that protect our residents and our staff. As a bilingual employee, I am able to assist with communicating with the residents we’re serving.
“Although there are many memorable moments of satisfaction from completed tasks, one sticks out at Wagner Houses: We had assisted with multiple work orders in an apartment occupied by a senior who had been requesting service for some time. Communication was immediately established with the resident’s daughter, and all staff was assigned once access was established. Once we started working, the daughter continually praised our courtesy, professionalism, and diligence. Experiences like this help to rebuild residents’ confidence and trust in our agency.”
