Taking Care of Mothers at the Melrose Classic Center
Over 130 people attended a Mother’s Day event at the Melrose Classic Community Center, operated by the community organization BronxWorks. The event honored mothers and served as a community wellness fair featuring representatives from health organizations Gamma Care, Oak Street Health, Pro Health, and VNS Health. Melrose Houses residents, NYCHA residents from nearby developments in the Bronx, and community members participated in the festivities, which included food, raffle prizes, and dancing. The event was organized by the Melrose Houses Resident Association and State Committeeman Elvis Santana of the 79th New York Assembly District.
“This event was a testament to our commitment to supporting our community,” Committeeman Santana said. “Looking ahead, we will organize more initiatives to provide essential services and celebrate the residents of the Melrose community.”
