National Night Out
National Night Out Against Crime is an annual event that brings together community members and their local police precincts to help strengthen relationships and promote safer neighborhoods. On August 3, the NYPD marked the 38th annual community-building event at more than 70 locations throughout the city attended by local residents, NYPD officers, elected officials, and community board representatives. NYCHA staff joined residents and resident association members at developments across the city, including Vice President for Public Safety Chief Gerald Nelson, who attended events at Linden Houses in Brooklyn and Woodside Houses in Queens, and Chief Operating Officer Vito Mustaciuolo, who visited Fulton Houses in Manhattan and Monroe Houses in the Bronx. In addition to food, games, bouncy houses, and music, proclamations were presented by elected officials to NYPD officers for their partnership and service to their communities.
