Playgrounds at Nostrand, Sheepshead Bay Get Major Upgrade 

On December 1, Council Member Mercedes Narcisse held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of work on two playgrounds for residents of Nostrand and Sheepshead Bay Houses and the greater neighborhood.  

The renovations were funded by former Council Member Alan Maisel. New play equipment, benches, spray showers, a game table, and pavement were installed at Nostrand Houses. The playground of the neighboring development, Sheepshead Bay, also received an upgrade, which included the removal of the existing asphalt pavement, safety surface, and sprinkler. New asphalt was installed as well as a colorful surface, safety surface, and stainless-steel spray showers.  

Council Member Narcisse was joined by staff from NYCHA and resident association leaders. Both playgrounds are now open to the public.
