Wishing You a Happy Thanksgiving!
Dear Residents,
On behalf of my NYCHA colleagues, I would like to wish you and your family a happy and meaningful Thanksgiving.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to get up every morning and work alongside my colleagues to make a difference for the NYCHA community. All of our efforts are entirely focused on transformation – transforming this vital organization so that it can be a better landlord for residents, transforming your homes so that they provide the quality of life you deserve.
Every day, I see immense dedication from the NYCHA team, whether it’s caretakers cleaning developments and housing assistants lending a helping hand, maintenance workers and skilled trades staff making critical repairs, project managers analyzing how to improve operations or better assist Section 8 voucher holders, or staff spearheading major housing preservation initiatives that generate billions of dollars of new investment for our properties.
I also see immense commitment from residents in advocating for their communities, whether it’s by connecting neighbors to life-changing health resources and educational programs, providing crucial input on the designs for new playgrounds or building renovations, or rallying for our fair share of government funding.
We are here for you, but we also appreciate working with you – the improvements we’ve been making wouldn’t be possible without our partnership.
The path of progress is sometimes rocky, but together we will overcome the challenges by working tirelessly to restore and strengthen NYCHA developments – not only for today but for the generations to come. And that means we will keep fighting to bring NYCHA communities the investments needed to address decades of disinvestment.
Serving you is an honor and a privilege, and I look forward to our continued collaboration. Thank you for your significant and vital role in our transformation efforts.
With gratitude,
Lisa Bova-Hiatt, Chief Executive Officer
