Veterans Day Commemorated at Wise Towers

In celebration of Veterans Day on November 11, a NYCHA PACT partner, the PACT Renaissance Collaborative, hosted U.S. military representatives and local veterans for a flag-raising ceremony at Wise Towers in Manhattan. Participating in the ceremony with some NYCHA resident veterans were Lieutenant General Matthew G. Glavy, Deputy Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, and six Marines from the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force. As part of the ceremony, a certificate was presented to the community which noted that the flag raised at Wise Towers had traveled with President Joe Biden on Marine One. The ceremony was among various Veterans Day events held throughout NYCHA to celebrate the service of veterans.
