Happy Thanksgiving

Dear Residents,

On behalf of our staff here at NYCHA, I would like to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family for a very happy Thanksgiving.

Reflecting on this past year, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as CEO of the Authority, and to personally meet and speak with so many residents who call NYCHA home. Being part of the NYCHA community in this way is an honor and a privilege – one to which I am deeply committed. However, we could not achieve all that we do without your ongoing partnership, or without the tireless dedication of NYCHA staff. I am so thankful for these collaborative efforts that make our agency and our portfolio stronger.

As you know firsthand, NYCHA is a critical source of affordable housing across the five boroughs for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers – housing stock that we are working hard to preserve and enhance. While we continue to face challenges spurred by decades of disinvestment, we also remain committed to advancing transformative measures to improve and make our operations and campuses the best they can be. Residents are at the heart of this and are our top priority.

During my time as CEO, I have already seen that we accomplish more together than we do when we are divided. This holiday season and beyond, I remain optimistic about what lies ahead and am confident that, hand in hand, we will keep fighting for our NYCHA developments. I am honored to lead NYCHA at this very pivotal time and sincerely thank you for your support and the role you play in our vibrant NYCHA community.

With gratitude and appreciation,

Lisa Bova-Hiatt
