Celebrating Mothers at Bracetti Plaza

Bracetti Plaza mothers and their families were celebrated at a pre-Mother’s Day brunch and bingo event held on May 10 by Vision Urbana at the development’s community center.

Vision Urbana, a nonprofit organization that provides services to the Lower East Side of Manhattan, has been providing community-based programming and services at the community center since October 2022.

Attendees of the Mother’s Day event were treated to brunch, gifts, and fresh fruit and vegetable care packages. Bracetti Plaza Resident Association President Vernette Quick cooked brunch items for the event and volunteered to help the celebration run smoothly. “It was a beautiful event,” Ms. Quick said. “I got some of my seniors to come out, and Vision Urbana had very nice gifts.”

Joining the Vision Urbana team and Ms. Quick at the brunch were Council Member Carlina Rivera and representatives from Assembly Member Grace Lee’s office.
