Older Adults: Apply for Affordable Housing at Casa Celina 

Applications are being accepted now through June 30, 2023, for affordable senior housing at Casa Celina, located at 1810 Watson Avenue in the Soundview section of the Bronx.  

The Casa Celina housing lottery is open to low-income older adults ages 62 and over who meet the income and household size requirements. There are 106 apartments available through NYC Housing Connect, including 36 apartments set aside for current NYCHA public housing residents or Section 8 voucher holders. Eligible residents will pay 30 percent of their income for rent and will need to qualify for Section 8.   

The building’s amenities will include a 24-hour attended lobby, on-site resident manager, sun terrace, laundry facilities, fitness center, computer lounge, community room, and landscaped rooftop terrace. The building will also feature a ground-floor community space occupied by the JASA East Bronx Case Management Program, which will provide social support services and senior health and wellness programming to Casa Celina and NYCHA residents, as well as the surrounding community.

Casa Celina is being constructed through the Extremely Low & Low-Income Affordability Program of the New York City Housing Development Corporation and the Senior Affordable Rental Apartments Program of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. The building will have a total of 205 apartments, which include 106 apartments available on NYC Housing Connect, with some of the apartments reserved for formerly homeless individuals.
