Pride Month 2026: Events Across New York City
June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the contributions, history, and diversity of LGBTQIA+ communities while recognizing the ongoing pursuit of equality and inclusion.
Pride Month is observed each June in honor of the 1969 Stonewall uprising, a series of protests that took place around the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village which became a defining moment in the LGBTQ rights movement worldwide. One year later, the first Pride marches took place in NYC and several other major U.S. cities, helping to launch a movement that continues today, over five decades later.
