Save Money on Internet with the Emergency Broadband Benefit

Attention NYCHA Residents and Section 8 Participants:

As of May 12, 2021, New Yorkers – including NYCHA residents and Section 8 participants – can apply to receive a temporary discount for current or new monthly internet service subscriptions. If you are eligible, you can receive:

  • Up to $50 a month for broadband internet service and associated equipment rentals, and
  • Up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of $10-$50) through an internet provider, where available.

This discount is available as part of the federal government’s Emergency Broadband Benefit, designed to assist low-income households during the COVID-19 pandemic. Go to www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit to see FAQs and to get other information about the program.
