SYEP Summer Bridge 2020

Ages 14-24; Apply by July 15

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) Summer Bridge 2020 is a special virtual program that will help young people ages 14 to 24 explore career opportunities, connect with professionals, and learn essential job readiness and workplace skills – all while earning money. Young people ages 14-15 can earn a stipend of $700, while those between the ages of 16-24 can earn $1,000 for participating. 

You must live in one of the five boroughs and be eligible to work in the United States. Internet access is required to participate in SYEP Summer Bridge. If selected for the program, let your provider know if you do not have an internet-connected device, such as a smartphone, iPad, or computer. 

Young people ages 14-21 may apply online; youth ages 22-24 may contact Youth Connect at 1-800-246-4646. NYCHA residents: see below for special opportunities.

MAP for $uccess 

As part of the Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety (MAP), 14- to 24-year-old residents from 15 NYCHA developments have access to SYEP Summer Bridge slots by applying with specific SYEP Summer Bridge providers, which means that MAP residents do not need to enter the general application lottery. If you live at Boulevard, Brownsville, Butler, Bushwick, Castle Hill, Ingersoll, Patterson, Polo Grounds Towers, Queensbridge, Red Hook, Saint Nicholas, Stapleton, Tompkins, Van Dyke, or Wagner, apply today!

Career FIRST 

Residents ages 14-24 who live at Baruch, Breukelen, Bronx River, Farragut, King Towers, Ravenswood, Throggs Neck, Tilden, and West Brighton qualify for this special program.
