Celebrating NYCHA’s Mothers and Expecting Mothers 

During Mother’s Day weekend, NYCHA mothers and expecting mothers were showered with gifts and resources at a baby shower for expecting Queens NYCHA families. 

The Healthy Start @ NYCHA program hosted a Queens Baby Shower and Resource Fair, a partnership between NYCHA’s Resident Health Initiatives Department and the Office of Queens Borough President Donovan Richards. It was held at the Helen Marshall Cultural Center at Queens Borough Hall on May 9. 

Joining the NYCHA team and its partners were Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, New York State Attorney General Letitia James, and resident association leaders from Redfern Houses and Woodside Houses. 

The event served growing families from across Queens, connecting them to valuable resources, services from 18 partner organizations, and workshops on safe sleep and infant CPR.
